My Trip To Atlanta

So recently, we had a company Online Editor/Programming Director meeting in Atlanta, GA. More or less, the goal of this trip was to come together, discuss concerns, and find solutions.

Day 1 (10/17)

I had to be at the airport around 5am to catch my flight at 6am from Dallas to Atlanta.

Once I arrived, I caught a Lyft to the Omni Hotel – CNN Center where everyone was staying.

I didn’t know the hotel was that big until I checked in and got my key and found out I was on the 22nd floor!

It was kind of weird the whole trip watching everyone eat and them asking me was I going to eat. I was like naw, my wife packed my lunch. That’s how it be when you God calls you to be set apart from everyone else. You don’t move how the world moves. You don’t do what they do. And people notice.

But anyway, got a chance to sit in on record label meeting with Columbia Records and hear their plans for their upcoming projects and how radio support would be beneficial.

After that, the team went out for drinks and to socialize, and I went back to my room to work on homework and relax.

Day 2 (10/18)

The next day, I woke up, packed my bags, at my leftovers, and headed down to the conference area to meet up with everyone. While they ate breakfast, I pretty much just worked on my computer…

Empire came and did a pitch about what they had going on and they also brought Lil Duval.

Later we took a shuttle over to LA Reid’s Hitco label to check out some of his new artist roster (Klondike Blonde, LightSkinKeisha, Coca Vango, The Bonfyre, Project 2 One 5, and Saint JHN.

After that, we headed back to the hotel for a few more label/radio meetings, and Warner Bros brought Q Money through…

Then us Online Editors broke off from the Program Directors and went to Radio One Atlanta to hang out…

From there, we said our goodbyes and I caught a Lyft back to the airport.

It was a cool trip, but I couldn’t wait to get back to Dallas.
